The Universal health-care coverage scheme, the country’s 30 Baht Scheme covers everyone who is not covered by other government-sponsored forms of insurance, i.e., the Civil Servant (and public enterprise workers’) Medical Benefit Schemes (CSMBS), the Social Security Scheme (SSS), the Health Card Scheme, and the Health Welfare for the Poor and the Disadvantaged Scheme (HWPDS). In practice, the latter two schemes were converted to the 30 Baht healt Scheme. In fact, the way these two schemes were implemented became the foundation of the 30 Baht heath care Scheme.
