Biosurfactant was produced by inoculating 2% (v/v) seed culture (optical density of about 2.0 at 600 nm) in a 1000 ml Erlenmeyer’s flask containing 500 ml SPY broth containing (g l−1) sucrose 30, peptone 5 and yeast extract 1, pH 10 and incubated for 7 days at 30 ◦C on a rotary shaker at120 rpm.
