The relationship between procurement management practices and successful projects among public sector organisations in kenya
Projects are crucial in the social-economic development of a country. One of the
considerations in projects is the procurement of goods, works, services, and
consultancies as inputs to implement projects in order to achieve the desired
objectives. While several studies have focused on some aspects of procurement in the
project setting, few have examined the relationship between procurement
management practices and the success of a project. The purpose of this quantitative
research was to examine the relationship between procurement management practices
and successful projects in public sector organizations in Kenya. The dependent
variable, successful projects, reflected the perception of senior procurement
professionals about the success of projects in their organizations. The independent
variables were strategic procurement, procurement planning, seller selection, and
contract management.
