Table I shows feedback from students who have used the small lab kit and their views on whether the tools help them to better understand the concepts in organic chemistry
The questionnaire have been distributed to students from the Faculty of science and Technology (FST), Faculty of education (FE) and Faculty Allied Health Sciences (FASH)
It was found that 80.4% of the students agreed, 17.6% did not agree and 1.96% leave it unanswered that microscale chemistry using the small lab kit helps them in understanding the chemistry better.
The majority of the students who agreed are from the Faculty of Science and Technology, followed by Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and Faculty of Education
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia is the first university to implement the usage of the small lab kit which is well received by the students
Initial results also showed that the learning of the practical s is more students performing the experimental hands_on and the use of the small lab kit should be continued
Open questions were also included in the questionnaire as to determine the preference to use of the portable laboratory
for the practical chemistry classes.Among the reasons they gave were as follows
