The Spice Girls were an English pop girl group started in 1994. The group consisted of Melanie Brown ( "Scary Spice") Melanie Chisholm ("Sporty Spice") Geri Halliwell ("Ginger Spice") Victorai Beckhan nee Adams ("Posh Spice") and Emma Bunton ("Baby Spice"). Each singer had unique character; the Scary Spice always was a loud and intense person. She had big hair big personality, and big voice. The nickname "Sporty Spice" reflected Malanie C. as a person who was a sports-oriented to kept herself in health. Ginger Spice, Geri Halliwell had flaming red hair but she was actually named Ginger because she originally dreamed of being a botanist, studying the evolutionary methods of her favorite plant, the ginger. "Posh Spice" Victoria was a member who cared about manner and luxury stuff she got obsessed with. "Baby Spice" had a character of being cute and adorable and Emma Bunton was also the last member to join the group.
They signed to Virgin Records and released their debut single "Wannabe" in 1996, which hit number one in 37 countries and made them as a global phenomenon. Their debut album Spice sold more then 30 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling album by a female group in history. Their Follow up album Spiceworld sold over 20 million copies worldwide, making them the best-selling female group of all time, one of the best-selling pop groups of all time, and the biggest British pop phenomenon since the Beatle.
