รีฟส์ Keanu has been through some pretty rough stuff in his life. His dad left his mother when he was 3, leading to constant moving and new stepfathers. His girlfriend delivered a stillborn child in 1999, and then she herself died in a car accident in 2001. To top it all off, his sister has battled cancer for close to a decade, with Keanu constantly supporting her not just financially, but also in person. You’d think that after that turn of events, he would be a pretty bitter guy, but no. Keanu Reeves has and continues to donate to charities, and even spent $ 50 million to buy motorcycles for a large part of the crew working on the Matrix trilogy.
The stories of his good nature would fill a long list, but here are some highlights, straight from the mouth of the people who witnessed them.
Notable Nice Guy Stories:
Keanu bought free lunch for all the stage hands and grunt workers during the last weeks of filming of the 1996 film “Chain Reaction”. He was also noted for being extremely friendly and nice to everyone on the set of this, and many other films.
Keanu gave $ 20,000 to a man working on building movie sets. The man, who worked on the Matrix set, had financial troubles with his family, of which Keanu heard and decided to help.
Keanu helped a woman whose car broke down on an LA highway. Keanu tried to start her car up, and then called for the vehicle to be towed. He then proceeded to drive the woman all the way to her home, 50 miles off from where he himself was heading. To finish it off, he gave the woman his phone number for any additional help.
I think that sums Keanu up pretty well. A genuinely good soul who hasn’t allowed his fame and rough life to stop him from being nice and friendly. We can only hope that more Hollywood celebrities will follow in his, and so many others' footsteps, to not only aim for fame, but also for becoming a better human being.
