Organization development interventions are very important and common
in franchised companies. This is an experimental study to assess the effectiveness
of organization development (OD) interventions on an international franchised
company in Cebu. The aim is to determine the attainment of the goals and
objectives of the five franchise outlets of a particular chain of pizza restaurants
in Cebu in terms of food, service and environment, through the theoretical
framework of this study based on Schein’s (2010) strategic planning model. The
pre and post-intervention instrument used is a researcher made survey instrument
that was constructed based on the Operations Manual of the pizza franchise.
Fifteen supervisors and staff of the pizza franchise were asked to rate themselves,
on how well they did in thirteen categories. The results served as the bases for
conducting a strategic planning workshop. Pre and post intervention means
were compared using paired t-test at 0.05 level of significance. The data from
pre-intervention assessment and post intervention evaluation were treated via
statistics using the means. The paired t-test was used for comparison of pre and
post intervention data for improvements significant at 0.05 levels.
