ABSTRACT
The purpose of the present study was to investiga
te the results of Reciprocal teaching
procedure (RTP) and common reading instruction on M
atthayomsuksa 4 students’ English
reading ability improvement. The subjects were divi
ded into two groups by Randomized
Block Design. One group was trained with RTP and th
e other with common reading
instruction for 30 hours. A standardized reading te
st was used to assess the reading
proficiency before and after the instructions. The
reading abilities of both subject groups were
not significantly different before the study. After
the instructions, the reading comprehension
of the students trained with RTP improved significa
