In conclusion, AM colonization alleviate the detrimental effect of salinity through improved water and nutrient uptake especially P through AM hyphae and colonized roots of plants resulting in better growth and biomass in comparison to non-mycorrhizal counterparts. However, mycorrhizal colonization also helps in mitigating ionic balance by maintaining favorable K+: Na+, Ca+: Na+ and Ca+: Mg+ ratios in comparison to non mycorrhizal ones, which ultimatelyhad the potential to alleviate the adverse effect of salt stress.
