For the most part this can prove to be accurate. Lately I’ve been inspired to run a Ragnar Relay (if you don’t know what it is, check it out), and clicked the ‘like’ button on the Ragnar Relay Facebook page to get updates. In my Newsfeed, nested in between status updates and photos of friends, was a sponsored ad for “Go Dirty Girl!”. Excuse me! I thought, while clicking to see what kind of a sexist, chauvinistic person would put an ad like that on MY Facebook. How dare they! To my surprise (and relief) I found it was an all women 5K run which includes a lot of mud. I’m noticing more and more that my Newsfeed and ad sidebar has been infiltrated with “Warrior Dash”, “Iron Man”, “Diva Run” advertisements, and even one promoting Joint Relief care (thanks for looking out, Facebook) – all things that are, in fact, appealing to me.
