The initial density was Wxed at 7,
10 and 12 °Be (109, 156 and 187 g of sugar/l of molasses,
respectively) by addition of water from a non-regenerated
column and the initial pH was 7–7.5. All media were sterilized
by autoclaving at 120 °C for 15min. BSG were
obtained from the Athenian Brewery S.A.
