pinot Noir seems to be in it's element when grown in Burgundy in France where it produces some of the world's finest red wine outside of burgundy,the thin-skinned,lightly-pigmented pinot noir produces some of the lightest,least-tannic red wine.but it is a difficult grape to grow,requiring a long, cool growing season,and it is a difficult grape to turn into good wine.there are many in the wine world who would agree that when pinot noir is good,it is exceptional ,but when it is bad it is atrocious.for this reason,its success has been limited, in terms ot both where it is grown and how well the consumer has accepted
