Although the current study did not identify a weight where the infant's risk is greatest, previous literature reported that infants b1250 g were most at risk (Jatana et al., 2010; Kopelman & Holbert, 2003; Rego & Martinez, 2002; Yong et al., 2005). As we strive to extubate or not intubate smaller infants, the use of nasal CPAP will continue to be a significant risk factor for skin injury.
