Hill conducted a study of relieving the perineal pain of postpartum women in first 24 hours after delivery by comparing among various methods using for relieving including warm perineal pack at 110 degrees Fahrenheit, cold perineum pack at 33 degrees Fahrenheit, and warm sitz baths containing warm water ranged 98-102 degrees Fahrenheit. The study based on the assessment of REEDA score found no statistically significant differences in before or two hours after treatment in the results of such three ways of relieving the perineal pain.
