4. Discussion
The sanitary consequences on human health, and the socioeconomic
impact of certain pathogens, particularly of toxigenic V.
cholerae and non-O1/non-O139 V. cholerae, V. parahaemolyticus and
V. vulnificus, are well documented. The risk of Vibrio-associated
infectious diseases is limited to a few cases each year in European
