These methods can't apply in the surface PM
motor that has the non-saliency.
We propose the rotor position estimation method used
the partial magnetic saturation at stand-still mode. Because
the saturable yoke constructed between the stator core
main teeth is partially saturated, the pilot current can be
decreased vastly. Since process of change of the stator
self-inductance differ with the partial saturation, the rotor
position estimation of surface PM motor is possible.
We have investigated the proposed estimation method
[3], [4]. In this paper, the proposed estimation method that
is applied to surface PM motor is evaluated on the basis on
estimation result. And, characteristics of motor efficiency
in steady state are analyzed by experimental results.
