The Cr/Ni ratios are low in the Ga’ara ironstone (Table 2) compared with that of Hussainiyat ironstone that ranges between 1.5 and 7.5 with average 4.65 which was attributed to the lateritization and pedogenic processes by Al-Bassam and Tamar Agha (1998). The Co/Ni ratio is also very low (Table 2) relative to the pisolitic colloform ironstone of Hussainiyat Formation (0.61).
