Lighting instruments separate into two types: focusable spots and floodlights. These two lights have a distinction two types of light: secular and diffused.
-Focusable spots and floodlights can be used for establishing key and fill. Key light is a strong beam of light casting harsh shadows, and fill light has a soft piece of light brought in to fill shadows.
- Focusable spots are frequently used as key lights, and soft lights as fill lights.
Specular light is direct light; it is produced by focusable spotlights. For example, the sun; the light rays from the sun are parallel and clear. In the bright day it creates harsh shadows with well-defined edges.
