In the current study, children in the obese group
had slightly higher numbers of steps than children in the overweight group. This could be explained by the differences in sample size and gender distribution within these groups. In addition, although a statistically significant difference for grade level was not found, these data do hold some relevance. In each grade, a trend that showed children categorized as nonoverweight having higher step counts than those categorized as overweight or obese
was observed.
