3.2 Biological effect of metals in X. parietina thalli
Chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total carotenoid concentrations were relatively stable in samples collected at each sampling station (Table 3). It was true also for related parameters, e.g., chlorophyll a+b, chlorophyll a/b, and total carotenoids/total chlorophyll ratio (Table 3) and the chlorophyll a/b ratio did not differ between any of the study sites. Integrity of chlorophyll a (ratio OD 435 nm/OD 415 nm) was not significantly different among studied sites (Table 4).
