Significant heterozygote deficiencies were observed at 19
of 84 locus/collection combinations, and at five of the six
loci for all individuals combined (Appendix I). The heterozygote
deficiency could have resulted from null alleles,
aneuploidy or assortative mating (not known to occur in
L. setiferus
), or the Wahlund effect, where individuals from genetically different sources were mixed before sampling.
