Enclosure: A designated area which includes space for sleeping and eating, such
as a pen. Enclosures may be entirely indoors or a combination of
indoor and outdoor facilities. Where appropriate, these are dealt with
separately in these guidelines.
Kennel: The equivalent to a domestic or backyard kennel, situated inside a
permanent enclosure or pen with above ground sleeping arrangements
and bed.
Run: An exercise yard separate to the enclosure.
Cage: A mesh or solid walled compartment within a building, designed for
the temporary housing and restraint of dogs immediately prior to, or
after, medical or surgical interventions.
