Recycled-glass countertops are similar in heft to engineered stone and solid surface. Unlike cement-based glass which is tough and requires a sealer, these resin-bound counters are tough but don’t need sealing. They do require cutting boards for food preps and trivets for hot posts.
Living in this era, one of the smart ways to help the planet would be simply reusing materials (being composed of 85% glass). It would blend sustainability with style – they also tell the story of their origins, from beer bottles to safety glass. The results are of course always unique one-of-a-kind designs.
This eco-friendly solution could be applied in more settings than just countertops – wall and floor surfaces might benefit from a similar approach.
