The dependence of the yield of carotenoids vs. the process parameters was determined.
The predominant effect of the pressure of supercritical carbon dioxide on the total yield of the carotenoids was discovered at the almost constant selectivity of the process on βcarotene in the pressure range from 150 to 350 atm.
One can recommend the
pressure of 350 atm at 80°C as the optimal extraction conditions; the yield of carotenoids at these parameters is ~35%.
