Summary
This experimental study examined the effectiveness of computer-assisted
instruction as compared to instruction using teacher-directed activity for teaching
mathematics to high school students with SLD. The use of statistical analyses assisted in
the evaluation of these methods of instruction for this population of students. It examined
the skill acquisition of the participants in both the CAI and TDA groups with the pretest
scores of the participants serving as the baseline (i.e., the covariate) for assessment.
