As discussed, I am summarizing the points we mentioned below:
1. Letter from the Association of Small Community Schools
I am attaching the letter sent to us by the Board of the Association of Small Community Schools, which represents 14,000 schools, requesting our assistance to turn their schools into learning and community development centers for members of the surrounding villages.
2. Working with Queen’s Park Hotel employees
We would be interested in inviting some of your hotel staff who are free during renovations to come to the Bamboo School in Buriram to assist with activities at the school. They could provide training and mentoring to our students running the “School Hotel” business, as well as in other areas such as cooking, administration, logistics and accounting. They could also work with our development team on the School-Based Integrated Rural Development Project (School-BIRD) to learn more about CSR, as well as our Birds & Bees Resort in Pattaya, a Social Enterprise which supports the school.
3. Setting up displays in Buildings owned by Thaibev.
We would like to setup temporary displays in the reception areas of some of the Thaibev-owned office buildings, explaining about the work of the Bamboo school. When they are in Bangkok, Bamboo School students could play music for office workers to get to know us and raise awareness on our work.
4. Khun Mechai to talk to Thaibev staff
Khun Mechai would be happy to come meet with all of your staff and give a talk about the importance of education and particularly on how rural Thai education could be improved.
5. Link Arsomsilp to the project in Prajinburi province
We would be happy to introduce you to the Arsomsilp Institute of the Arts (private university) to discuss expanding their program to your project area in Prajinburi province.
6. Beta Young Thaibev scholars
You mentioned your partnership with the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce to provide scholarships to students studying business as part of your Beta Young project. Khun Mechai would be happy to meet with them to inspire them to become social entrepreneurs.
7. The “Siam Elephant Dome” at the Bamboo School
We will provide you with an estimated cost (based on a per square meter value) to complete the floor of the “Siam Elephant Dome” at the Bamboo School. We were able to construct the dome thanks to Khun Ying Wanna’s generous support.
8. Thaibev scholarships for Bamboo School students.
We would like to explore Thaibev’s interest in providing secondary school scholarships to some of the Bamboo School students.
Khun Mechai would be happy to meet and further discuss these points at your early convenience.
