Recent health services studies have focused on the
safety climate (Hartmann et al. 2008, Singer et al.
2009) and further research is required to investigate
whether the safety climate interacts with nursing
accreditation level to affect patient safety. Moreover,
Teng et al. (2010a) found that nurse-perceived timepressure
hampers patient outcomes, demonstrating that
nursing work stress affects health-care outcomes. Future
studies should investigate whether nursing accred-
itation level moderates the negative effects of nurseperceived
time-pressure on patient outcomes.
