ZERO WASTE MANAGEMENT: A Module for SCHOOLS What Would Happen When You Do Not Manage Your Waste? Our earth will become a sphere dump site revolving around the sun if we would not manage our wastes. Schools are said to be the second home for students and where everyone learn a lesson for a living. Even in college there are professors who would say that "be concern to our school do not loiter anywhere". Sometimes they said before the class "pick first those waste on you desks or floor". And sadly there are students who did not manage their wastes properly even it is just a candy wrapper, too irresponsible. Sometimes I heard a student said, " kaya nga may janitor eh". Unreasonable thinking, as if she didn't learn from home on how to clean even her room. Our university practicing waste management from professors advises and having trash bin anywhere in the university. Waste management is a set of activities that include the following: 1. collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste; 2. control, monitoring and regulation of the production, collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste & 3. prevention of waste production through in-process modification, reuse and recycling. My operations management enumerate some facts for businesses on how minimize waste in our environment: 1. Makes products recyclable 2. Use recycled materials 3. Use less materials 4. Use less harmful ingredients 5. Use less energy. It just proves that schools are educating even future students on how to produce products considering waste management. ff_ems_cycle250.jpg
