As expected, rhizosphere microorganisms from the neem extract-treated mung beans outnumbered those from the rhizospheres of the control plants, regardless of the soil in which they were grown. It is likely that the rhizosphere microorganisms were not affected by azadirachtin; the number of CFU from the CS pots was relatively similar to that of the control. On the other hand, soil microorganism populations were reduced significantly by the application of azadirachtin (Table 1 and Figure 1).
