This research is Non-Experimental Research which aimed to investigate to use Phonics in developing students’ English pronunciation for first year students at faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University. The research design we used is Pretest-Posttest meaning that we gave them the test and let them do by themselves without basic knowledge how to pronounce according to Phonics. Then, we will teach them what is Phonics and how to pronounce based on Phonics. After that let them do the test again and see how they improve their pronunciation.
The population we used to investigate this time is the first year students which belong to faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University who study in second semester in the academic year of 2014. The researchers got the sample by selecting non-randomly about 15 students to do the test. We focused on the first year students from different majors, except TESOL’s students. Because we would like to know that how other major students pronounce the English words.
