Student confidence in content taught in lecture
was lacking. The goal of this action research
project was to increase student self-efficacy as a
means to positively affect student confidence, enjoyment
of the class, and improve assessment
scores. Students lacked the ability to study lab
equipment in a manner that aligned concepts
taught in lecture with a visual reference. Student
confidence was supported with the use of multimedia
tools that caused students to be pre-exposed
to content, created an opportunity to give
them formative feedback, and provided the ability
for students to be oriented visually to lab equipment
outside of the classroom.
