Partial lcp-homologous sequence was successfully amplified from Streptomyces sp. CFMR-7, Gordonia sp. CDRG-7 and Gordonia sp. CFR-4 using degenerate primers.
Streptomyces sp. CFMR-7 was subjected to whole genome sequencing and the full length lcp gene was identified.
Nucleotide sequence and deduced amino acids sequence analysis of strain Gordonia sp. CDRG-7 revealed high homology with reported lcp genes.
However strain Streptomyces sp. CFMR-7 and Gordonia sp. CFR-4 seemed to be different from the reported rubber-degrading bacteria.
It suggests its further characterization and probable exploitation in rubber waste management
