Leafspots roughly circular (5–10 mm in diameter), light brown to grey with a dark brown margin, on both surfaces of leaves but more commonly on the upper surface. Conidiomata acervular, subepidermal, later partly erumpent by the scaling off of an irregular disc-like portion of the epidermis exposing a black mass of conidia, scattered, 100–150 μm in diameter
