Citharexylum spinosum is an aromatic plant
belonging to Verbenaceae family. Citharexylum genus
contains approximately 70 species which is found in
Bermuda, West Indies, and southern United States
through Mexico to South America [1]. Normally, it is
cultivated as a street tree which is a popular
ornamental, primarily in tropical and subtropical areas
of the world as an ornamental for its fragrant white
flowers and attractive foliage [2]. There are many
common names including Florida fiddlewood and
Spiny fiddlewood [3].
