As shown in Table 2, regardless of the failure mode analyzed,
the parameters identified as critical are of a wide variety and come
from different phases of the life cycle of a dam. Dam geometric
information, its features, water levels, design capacities, instrumentation
data, and historical events are typically needed for the
analysis regardless of the failure mode. Using the findings of the
literature review, the authors utilized various elicitation techniques
to identify the information requirements of engineers as detailed in
the next section.
