The Fairtrade movement gives farmers and workers in the developing world a better deal for the work they do. Consumers who buy products that carry the FAIRTRADE Mark can be confident that farmers receive a fair and stable price for their goods, and workers are paid a decent living wage and work in a safe environment. In addition, producers also receive an extra sum, called the Fairtrade premium, to invest in community development projects, such as building hospitals, schools, ensuring a clean water supply, and improving facilities.
