Dear Parichart Intawang (X025597)
Your Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status (Form I-20) has been issued today. The tracking number for your document is 1ZE2Y9230499280658
You should now:
1. Pay the SEVIS Fee (www.fmjfee.com). Be certain to print out 3-5 copies of the receipt you will receive when you’ve completed the payment process. To pay the SEVIS fee, you will need your SEVIS ID number (which is N0015260115) and our school code (which is PHI214F00504000). If you are a transfer student or have already paid the SEVIS fee for this SEVIS ID, you do not have to pay the fee again. Generally, you only pay the SEVIS fee one time per SEVIS ID. More information about the SEVIS fee is available at the web site of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/index.htm).
2. Read the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement information regarding nonimmigrant students at http://www.ice.gov/sevis/students/.
3. Contact a U.S. Embassy or Consulate to apply your student visa. Individuals from countries that are visa exempt (Canada, Mexico and some of the adjacent islands) do not need a visa, but they still need to pay the SEVIS fee.
4. Plan to arrive no more than 30 days prior to the start of your program, or you may be turned away at the border. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security prohibits students from entering the U.S. more than 30 days before the start date listed on item #5 of the Form I-20.
5. Read about the U.S. VISIT program and about Arrival and Maintaining Status in the US (www.dhs.gov/us-visit-resources-and-materials).
6. Make sure you have housing from your first night in the U.S. If you still need housing, you can check information available at temple.edu/studentaffairs/housing/ and at temple.edu/provost/international/ielp/housing/index.html.
7. Have a medical and dental check-up. Not only is health care expensive in the U.S., but many U.S. insurance policies do not cover dental check-ups .
8. Have your immigration documents readily accessible so that you have them in hand when you arrive in the US because you need to present them at U.S. Customs when you arrive. This includes your passport, Form I-20, financial documentation, and SEVIS payment receipt.
We look forward to your arrival to Temple University, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office by e-mail at ielp@temple.edu or by phone at 215-204-7899
Thank you.
