The intended function of the Improvised Suppressor is to reduce the sound and muzzle flash produced by the weapon it is attached to when firing. This is considered semi-functional, as report of high-damage weapons, including the Mosin 9130, LongHorn, and AKM is not affected by the Improvised Suppressor. While a Improvised Suppressor will function normally as a dispersion-reducing attachment, it will not suppress the sound of such weapons.
The Improvised Suppressor will not normally survive more than one shot, and is primarily used for suppressing one shot takedowns.
