The next age is the modern period. In the modern age, there were so many development of military technology. One of the most important wars occurring in that time was World War I. World War I known as the Great War or the First World War began on 28 July 1914 and ended in 1918. The advancement of military technology used in WWI caused a massive devastation and death toll. So many victims and civilians were died of the belligerents’ technology and military deadlock. There were various technological weapons used in World War I (WWI). Tanks played a key role in WWI and were the first technology used in the movement of war. During WWI, tangs could be one of the most powerful weapons with machine guns and rifle fire. This allowed the military to kill a thousand of enemies at one time. Additionally, the tanks were powered by an internal engine burning diesel which was the latest fuel at that time. The second technology is Flamethrower. Flamethrower was designed in 1901. It was the powerful weapon which could kill and destroy a massive number of enemies. Poison gas or chemical weapon was another vital technology in WWI. The poison gas may be known as the evil weapon due to devastating results. Poison gas was successful invented by Germans. During WWI, it was the new invention threatening to the armies who did not have gas masks. In addition, tracer bullets could be another interesting technology widely used in the night combat of WWI. Tracer bullets made night combat more productive. During WWI, night combat seemed to be difficult since the limitation in visualization. The development of tracer bullets improved the effectiveness of night attacks or fighting at night. The military forces enabled to shoot the opposites from long distances. The tracer bullets made of the flammable ingredients which could ignite hydrogen. The last weapon is air traffic control. Air traffic control was successfully installed by the U.S. Army during the Great War. Air traffic control consisted of operational two-way radios in the plane. The main duty of air traffic control was to send a radio telegraph over a distance of 140 miles and exchange the radio messages between the planes. It was the first time which human voice was transmitted radio from the flight to the ground. The technological development in WWI included aircraft carriers. The first aircraft launched in WWI was equipped with a 786-foot-long battle cruiser and two massive 18-inch guns. It was the most powerful aircraft with cutting-edge technology.
