If the strip curtain is made of plastic, fabric, or any other organic material, try to install it out of sunlight. The ultraviolet component of sunlight causes plastic to become weak, stiff, and dark. Select the plastic material for the temperature range
in which it is used. Plastic becomes stiffer as it becomes colder. If the plastic is much colder than its normal temperature, it becomes brittle enough to break easily. If you have a choice, install the strip curtain in a location where the temperature varies least. Try not to install the strip curtain where it is subject to strong wind. Wind flows easily through strip curtains
if it is strong enough to blow the curtain partly open. If possible, install the strip curtain in combination with a vestibule (see Measure 6.1.8).
