The latest updates on the Acura NSX have the wait worth while. Acura’s parent company, Honda, just released some of the most exciting news surrounding the return of the company’s supercar revival.
The Japanese automaker has chosen to power the mid engined monster with a twin turbo charged 3.5 liter V-6 engine that has been paired with three electric motors. The turbo charged Honda motor will produce 500 horsepower on its own. This isn’t exactly new or ground breaking. Honda has been hinting at a 500 horsepower NSX since 2012. The newest development however is what dreams are made of in the new automotive world. The NSX’s three electric motors will aid the car not only acceleration but handling as well. One electric motor is mated to the gasoline engine in the rear while the other two are sent to the front of the car to their homes at each wheel. These motors complete the new all wheel drive system on the mid engined Japanese supercar and also complete the hybrid drive system that powers an extra 75 horsepower. There’s the 575 the world has been waiting for.
