Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata admits he hopes Javier Hernandez stays at Old Trafford next season, amid speculation that the striker will be sold by Louis van Gaal this summer.
The Mexican forward spent last season on loan at Real Madrid and, although he impressed when given the chance, found his opportunities limited by the likes of Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.
The 27-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements by Van Gaal last summer after the Dutchman made wholesale changes during his first transfer window at the club.
But Mata, who moved to the Red Devils for £37million in January 2014, has urged Hernandez to stay and fight for his place.
