Some companies are going one step further and job seekers are facing additional difficulties – they are no longer allowed to smoked to smoke at work or at anytime. An increasing number of employers are asking applicants to take urine tests and if they test positive for nicotine use ( cigarettes, smokeless tobacco or even patches ) then they are not hired. These tobacco free hiring policies are implemented to promote health and reduce insurance premiums. Such policies have been introduced at the Baylor Health Care system in Texas and Hollywood Casino in Toledo, Ohio.
