Mixture design and models
Mixture experiments are a special class of response surface
experiments in which the product under investigation ismadeup of
several components or ingredients. The response is a function of the
proportions of the different ingredients in the mixture (Bendebanea
et al., 2013).
Mixture models have been shown to be useful in describing the
behaviors of solvent mixtures to extract substances from plants
(Soares et al., 2008, 2009. The extracted crude has been found to
depend on the proportions of the solvents in the extractingmedium
using mixture models
