This paper presents an analysis of the medium-term rate of
coastline changes and identifies erosion ‘hotspots’ along the coast
of Elmina, Cape Coast and Moree. The result of this study is significant
since it provides reliable recession information for policymakers
in Ghana, which will serve as the baseline for developing
sustainable management strategies and policies to control the
coastal resources along the Elmina, Cape Coast and Moree area. The
information about the erosion ‘hotspots’ reveals locations along the
Elmina, Cape Coast and Moree coast that need urgent management
attention to check the spread of erosion.
