Recovery curves were ¢tted using a biexponential function: percent recovery=13p1 exp(3t/d1)3(13p1)exp (3t/d2), where p1 and (13p1) represent
the proportion of recovery accounted for by the time constants d1 and d2, respectively. The voltage dependence of recovery curves were ¢t
by the Boltzmann function: percent recovery=min rec+max rec/[1+exp(V3V1=2)/k], where min rec and max rec represent the minimum and
maximum recovery values, V1=2 represents the voltage corresponding to half-maximal recovery, and k is a slope factor. Parameters were generated
from mean values by curve-¢tting algorithms of SigmaPlot, which also provided the asymptotic standard error of each estimate. ND=not
