Preliminary data on using thin film made from assembly of nanographites acting as an additional layer deposited on gold electrodes were reported to improve the capacitance of the electric double layer capacitors(EDLCs).The capacitor consisted of 2 gold electrodes separated by a dielectric separator. The electrolyte was 30%wt KOH. The dimension of the capacitors was 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm x 300 µm. High surface area of nanographites can improve the capacitance of the EDLCs. The capacitance of the EDLC was investigated by I-V and C-F measurements. Nanographites were obtained from sonication technique of graphite powders in prepared solvents. Their morphology and graphitic characteristic were investigated by SEM and Raman spectroscopy, respectively.
