It is un realistic I think to have reintroduction with all species in need because when an area is getting re introduced the land managers are re starting an eco-system from scarth and although it would be cool to get every species back in the natural habitat it is just unlikely to occur, the ecosystem is not large enough to support these just yet.
When determination a species to put into a reintroduction area, it is important to look at both plants and animals, it is important to look at getting plants that have already been present in that ecosystem or plants that are declining and consider the same with the animals that are put back in, will the animals eat all the plant material and then die out again or cause each of systems survive depending on each other
Public input can be important with some conservation efforts, other times public input is not as important I think in the case of the Mauna Loa sword it was important because the public in this case helped out, such as the school children helping plant in that example the public input was very important because the children learned about biology and were able to help volunteer outside. Weakness of public input can be were people protest and demand that action is not taken, even though some people in the public have their hearts in the right places they don’t have the knowledge and may realize the harm that they are doing to the environment.
A huge problem with species reintroductions is as mentioned in the video is the genetic contamination if we start to reintroduce a certain species it could have better or worse genetics then the surrounding community and affect the surrounding community, the benefits outweigh the costs because even though we will never have the original eco system it is important to try and alter the human affected regions back into the natural regions.
