Detecting Narcotics Problems in the Northern Area
This research is conducted Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province as a case study. The objectives of this research are to understand the situation of demand and supply of drugs in the target area and also learn about the effects of the problem. At the moment, this project is under the data processing stage.
Operation Research on Narcotics Control by Community Organization
This research is aimed to develop the patterns of narcotics control measures in the community organization and create a system of coordination and cooperation among state agencies, people
organizations and non-governmental organizations on narcotics control matters. This project covers various districts and villages but pays special attention to Jun District, Payao Province. At this stage, the project is on its process.
Research on Narcotics Problems among Wanderer Kids
The aims of the project are to study about the behavior of drug use, pattern of epidemic, motives of drug use and understand about drug problems among wanderer kids. The research team has collected information from wanderer kids aging 6-18 years old in Bangkok and outskirts. The out come of this research indicates that seventy percent of the wanderer kids have already used drugs while
they started to wander. The most popular drug for first use of this group are volatile substances such as glue, etc. The reasons for taking drugs are curiosity, for fun and persuasion. The most popular drugs that this group uses nowadays are volatile
substances and methamphetamine. Only a small number in this group uses heroin and cannabis. The research also found out that most of the wanderer kids still lacked of the right knowledge on drugs.
