Village Green - located at the heart of the
development, rural in character, framed by
mature trees it provides a key linear green
route through the village and is a meeting
place for informal play and relaxation. Existing
mature hedgerows and trees are retained and
reinforced with a wide swathe of species rich
grassland interspersed with orchard trees.
• Village Centre - an attractive, high quality
shared surface/tree lined square. A space
designed to be shared by pedestrians, children,
cyclists, and low-speed motor vehicles.
• Pulley Meadows - enhanced as a Local
Nature Reserve, in response to its
interface with the adjoining countryside.
The attenuation pond will support
ecologically diverse wetland habitats.
• Adventure Playground - designed in response
to its sloping nature and naturalised setting,
it caters to the development and adjacent
community as an active and challenging
area for natural play and exploration.
• Community Orchards - traditional
orchards are reintroduced, underplanted
with wildflower meadows, to enhance
landscape character, biodiversity,
community provision and enjoyment.
• Community Allotments- provide a focal
point to the community with the opportunity
to grow fresh produce, encourage healthy
eating and involve children in the life
cycle of sustainable food production.
• Infrastructure planting - link and enhance
habitats, define spaces, provide attractive
tree lined streets and establish a high
quality environment to live and play.
Approximately 45% of the total area of the site
comprises areas of retained habitats, created
habitats, sustainable urban drainage, gardens,
play areas and other landscape amenity areas.
